On February 3, 2021, another case of an orange tabby cat successfully treated for stomatitis using Mucogingival Replacement Surgery (MGRS).

Do you remember "Taichung Tony Leung" Rong-Rong?
At that time, he weighed 4.4 kilograms,
had undergone full mouth extraction, and still suffered from severe stomatitis. The gingiva and oral mucosa were noticeably swollen, inflamed, and painful. The cat's appetite continued to be affected.

After searching tirelessly, the owner found Dr. Chung-Wei Chen, the director of our hospital, and took a long time to decide to let the orange tabby cat Rong-Rong undergo Mucogingival Replacement Surgery (MGRS). Now, Rong-Rong's stomatitis has healed, and his weight is 5.1 kilograms. The MGRS treatment has been completed, and all antibiotics and analgesics have been discontinued. We will continue to monitor Rong-Rong's progress.

We are delighted to have helped Rong-Rong recover from stomatitis. Seeing a thin orange tabby cat gradually become a chubby one is truly satisfying. Thanks to Rong-Rong's owners for their trust throughout the journey.

※Thanks to Rong-Rong's owners for their trust throughout the journey. We urge everyone to help spread awareness of new concepts in animal dentistry:
▲Dentistry is a surgery; surgery is the primary treatment method in dentistry. Dental and oral diseases must rely on surgery and dental instruments to address the root cause, with medication serving as a supplementary measure.
▲Tooth extraction should not be done arbitrarily; teeth have a function of supporting the oral cavity, not just for chewing.
▲We hope to have more cats with stomatitis participate in our hospital's "Clinical Treatment Research Project for Stomatitis Cats" (https://hellopeter.com.tw/content-81.html)
