What should owners pay attention to after their companion animals have dental crowns or bridges installed?
Many dogs and cats owners always ask whether they can eat hard food or not after endodontics and installing crown or bridge?

Although dental materials and technology have been quite advanced, and the patients can chew normal food normally after treatment, it is still not recommended to allow dogs and cats to bite hard things, such as bones, furniture, stones, etc., otherwise their bite force may still improve the risk of damaged of crown, bridges or dentures.

The picture shows a patient of our hospital. One year after installing the zirconia dental bridge, it continued to bite the metal door handle, which caused serious wear on the dental bridge.

In addition, the maintenance of the crown, bridge or dentures also requires brushing, scaling and root planing to clean the teeth, and regular follow-up inspections, so that the crown, bridge or dentures can be used longer and avoid gingivitis or periodontitis.
