2020/09/17 虎斑貓大喵完成MGRS所有療程，停止給予抗生素及止痛藥等內科藥物，之後每半年追蹤一次口腔狀況。

陳重威獸醫師獨創的牙齦黏膜置換手術(mucogingival replacement surgery, MGRS) 是一個複合的療程，需透過下列多種方式搭配治療，才能有效治癒貓慢性齒齦口炎(feline chronic gingivostomatitis , FCGS)，而非單使用其中任何一種方法就能完成：
1.外科手術：MGRS的療程以外科為主，包括牙齦切除術(gingivectomy)、牙齦移植手術(gingival plasty and graft surgery)、牙科雷射(dental laser)切割燒灼、超音波骨刀機(piezosurgery)拔除斷裂殘根等方法，清除發炎紅腫的軟組織及刺激物，使健康的新生組織可以重新生長，並非單使用牙科雷射治療即可。
2.內科藥物：藥物為輔助性質，包括口服、針劑與局部用藥，目的為預防感染並保持貓咪生活品質良好，常用的像是抗生素、抗菌劑、止痛藥及食慾促進劑等，若貓咪本身有帶原病毒性疾病（貓愛滋、貓疱疹病毒等），則會視情況搭配使用干擾素。
3.口腔衛教：教導飼主術後傷口保健、牙齦及口腔黏膜清潔、刷牙等保健事項，良好的口腔衛生，能促進傷口癒合並避免感染，MGRS治療效果才會良好。
MGRS療程結束後就康復，貓咪不需要再長期服用藥物控制口炎。


Dr. Chung-Wei Chen(Dr. Richard Chen)'s original "mucogingival replacement surgery (MGRS)"  is a complex treatment procedure. The following multiple methods are required to be combined with treatment to effectively cure feline chronic gingivostomatitis (FCGS), rather than just using any of these methods:
1. Surgery: The treatment of MGRS is based on surgery, including gingivectomy, gingival plasty and graft surgery, cutting soft tissue with dental laser, extracting residual roots with piezosurgery, and other methods to remove inflamed and swollen soft tissues and Irritating objects, and let healthy tissues grow. Only with dental laser, treatment cannot be completed.
2. Internal medicine: medicines are supplementary in nature, including oral, injection and topical medicines. The purpose is to prevent infection and maintain a good quality of life for cats. Commonly used drugs are antibiotics, antibacterial agents, analgesic drug and appetite boosters, etc. If the cat has the original viral disease(Ex: FIV, FHV etc.), I will add interferon to use.
3. Oral hygiene education: teach the owners the wound care, gingival and oral mucosa cleaning, tooth brushing and other health care items. Good oral hygiene can promote wound healing and avoid infection, and MGRS treatment will have a good effect.
After the MGRS treatment completed, the cat has recovered, and she doesn’t need to take medicine for a long time to control the FCGS.
